A loose watercolour depicting The Theatre Royal in Grey Street on a very wet evening.

Learn how to paint a loose watercolour then add pastels

At over four hours long this brilliant lesson will introduce you to painting a watercolour with a wet in wet loose technique, then if you wish creating more vibrancy by dragging soft pastels over the foreground.

Contents

For this lesson as well as watercolour  you will need some masking fluid to protect some of your whites, or you can use white gouache or pastel at the finish. I also used some bright blues, reds, and yellow pastels in the foreground but this is optional. The lesson is broken down into three sections so you can try it at your own pace.
