In 2025 I created a series of short anecdotes envisaging Van Gogh and other artists visiting Bishop Auckland in modern times to have an exhibition. To accompany these tales I painted scenes of Bishop Auckland painted in the styles of these famous artists. It was the interest and success of this that inspired me to create this nine week course. You will be able to read these stories and see the paintings when you enroll in the course.
In this 2 hour lesson we will have a go at painting Van Gogh's Cyprus Trees and learn how to use his colours and techniques.
In this section we will see how Monet used Impressionist methods to paint his haystacks.
In this section we will be using pastels to create one of Degas's nude paintings.
A Christmas card in the style of the impressionist.
